Fish Anyone?????

Swim class finally arrived! The girls have been nagging and nagging and nagging - did I say they had been nagging??? Well finally we had enough money to sign up and then WAIT another 2 weeks before we could start - ugh! Well last night was the night. Anna took to the water like a pro. I think next week she'll be almost completely floaty free. She was even able to climb down to the bottom and pick up the sunken treasures from the bottom. You go girl!!

Then there was Sophie. Sophie was my biggest worry when it came time for class. We lovingly call her "The Tank." She has no fear and constantly keeps me on my toes. I warned her little teacher to keep an eye out - she's fast. The lesson proceeded so well and I was so proud of her!!

Then - just when I thought all was safe...

Sophie decided at the last minute to take one last dive into the pool! She was still wearing her floaty thank goodness, but she chose to dive in at the corner - risking hitting her pretty noggin on the wall. Her little teacher caught her just in time, but I think the teacher might have lost a few years off her life! She gave me a look and all I could say was, "I told you she was a dare dog." I think Sophie won't leave her sight again.

Gotta love that Sophie!!!!

Thankful Thursday!

What to say, what to say ...

I have so very many things to be thankful for on this beautiful Thursday! I am thankful first and foremost for my God. He is awesome in all his glory and he keeps us close to him during our trials and tribulations!

I am thankful that Anna and Sophie will finally start swim lessons tonight. They are so excited!

I am thankful that I have such a kind and giving mother who would do anything for her grandchildren - including dropping pajamas off at pre-school when an absentminded mother has forgotten - oops!

I am thankful for a wonderful husband who is almost finished with college (woo hoo) and who I am very proud of for working so hard!

Most of all - I am just THANKFUL!!

Here is a picture of some of my crazy but loving church family. Everyone is so unique and special in their own way. Here we are celebrating the wonderful Superbowl wearing our fantastic 3-D shades. Aren't we all gorgeous!! These are the kinds of things we enjoy doing together. Fellowship for us is a blessing. We enjoy spending time with everyone and becoming a part of such a wonderful group. I wouldn't trade our little church of Leslie Baptist for any other!!!

Here's a version of Where's Waldo - Where are those cute girls??

Can you spot them?

Not Me Monday!

Well - to start off my very first Not Me Monday I will start by saying:

I did NOT eat brownies for breakfast as that would NOT be healthy for baby J. I would never do such a thing!

I did NOT tell my kindergarten class that Anna was a "lip-gloss freak." I would NOT use that kind of language in my class - no way!

I did NOT bribe my kiddos with extra recess if they behaved at an assembly. That would have been UNprofessional and I'm NOT that kind of teacher! Definitely NOT something I would do!!

That's it -I'm sure there are more things I would NOT do, but I'm too busy NOT typing on the computer instead of copying papers!! Yikes!

When Will the Whirlwind End??

Well, I haven't posted in a few days, but my frazzled weekend started out someting like this...
1. Call from Anna's school saying she was running a fever.
2. Took her to the doctor found strep (yuck).
3. Up all night trying to control her fever.
4. Keeping Sophie quarantined.
5. Drop kiddos off at the grandparents because I had a benefit for my school.
6. Feel like doggy doo so I go to the doctor real quick and get my meds.
7. Go back to the scrapbook benefit.
8. Leave scrapbook benefit to attend Sweetheart Banquet at my church.
9. Go back to school to finish benefit.
10. Go home and crash!

Any Questions???? Didn't think so!

Thankful Thursday!

Have you ever just had "one of those days?" Well, I guess I'll take after my good friend Vicki and post MY Thankful Thursday. Maybe this will help me put things into perspective - so - here it goes:

1. I am thankful for my two beautiful girls that I will be seeing shortly.
2. I am thankful for my husband who will have a busy night at school.
3. I am thankful for my church family as they are as close as a family can get!
4. I am thankful for the precious life that will be joining us in July.
5. I am thankful that I am NOT in control and that GOD is - he knows WAY more than I do!
6. I am thankful I have some very caring kiddos in my class and I am thankful for the ones that
make me pull my hair out. They are only giving me a strength that will last a lifetime (or
a heartattack before I'm 40 (LOL).
7. Most of all I need to just be thankful - because there are others that have worse things in
their life than I do!

Well, I can always count on my girls to brighten my day no matter what. After a very hard and trying day the girls and I decided to stage a "rock star" show. It was hysterical and just what I needed to laugh off such a rotten day. I will say that poor Anna will have a blackmail video for when she is older! LOL

The Day Sophie Got Her Ears Pierced (oh my)

Sophie had been wanting to get her ears pierced like her big sister Anna. We promised her over Christmas break that we would go ahead and have it done. We did tell her it would hurt a little, but she was just "so excited". It was all she could do to stay strapped in her car seat on the way to the mall. As you can tell from the picture she was a trooper. She didn't even shed a tear. Other than a little look of surprise she took it with all the grace God has given her. What a toughie!
Here are my beautiful girls in all their glory. The only major snow we had this year and we went out as a family to enjoy the fluffy white stuff. You can tell from the looks on their faces that they were having a fabulous time. We couldn't find Sophie's mittens so we had to put three pairs of socks on her hands to keep them warm. She didn't mind!

The start of it all...

Well this is the beginning. I have never posted before, but was informed it was time to give it a shot. My posts will be dedicated to my family and our friends that share in our lives. We are a Christian family that is very active in our church. We are trying daily to instill the proper values to our children so they may grow up to be the wonderful people that GOD has planned them to be. So... I will show off my great joy!
